Police Encourage Residents To Close Garage Doors
The Temple Terrace Police Department's Community Service Officer releases information on crimes that took place in the last week.

Burglary Residence
July 18, 8 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
11300 block of Cypress Drive
Unknown subjects entered an open garage area and took a men’s silver-colored Giant mountain-style bicycle.
Loitering and Prowling, Resisting an Officer, Providing a False Name to an LEO, and Violation of Probation
July 19, 11:57 a.m.
Sandscape/Riverhills Drive
A resident reported that two men had almost walked into his opened garage in the 400 Block of Montrose Avenue.
When confronted by the resident, they were surprised and asked if “Dale” lived there.

The subjects then left. One was riding a bicycle and the other was on foot.
Responding officers located the subjects riding on the bike together and stopped them. They were identified as the subjects who had spoken with the resident.

One of the subjects gave officers a fake name and was arrested. It was determined that he was on probation for burglary.
The subjects were likely searching the area for a bicycle to steal, according to Temple Terrace Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler.
Mishler offered the following crime prevention tip: “Please remember to close garage doors when you are not using them.”
