Police Investigating Death of Elderly Man
It is unclear if the man is the victim of a homicide or if an accident is to blame.
Tampa Police detectives are investigating the death of a 68-year-old man found early this morning in his apartment.
According to police, James Ralph Sanders, 68, of 8425 Del Ray Court, No. 1, in Tampa was found injured in his home just after 4:30 this morning. Tampa police and Fire Rescue units responded to Sanders’ home because they had been notified an elderly man was on the floor and could not get to the door.
After forcing entry into the home, police and fire rescue personnel found Sanders and transported him to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died.

“The victim was located with upper body trauma and homicide detectives are working to determine if those injuries were accidental or if a crime has occurred,” a media release said.
The investigation continues.
