Police Need Help Finding Armed Robbery Suspect

The man is wanted for robbing woman who was making a night deposit at a SunTrust Bank.

A McDonald’s employee making a night deposit at a Fowler Avenue SunTrust Bank location was targeted by an armed robber, Tampa Police detectives say.

Now those detectives need the public’s help to find the man they say is responsible for taking the cash.

According to a Tampa Police Department media release, Victoria Kinney, 21, stopped at the 2208 Fowler Ave. bank branch around 5 p.m. Aug. 16 to make a night deposit for her restaurant. As she was trying to push two bags into the deposit box, a man ran around the corner and tried to grab the bags.

Kinney, a cashier, tried to stop him, but the man pulled out a “black semi-automatic type handgun which was wrapped in a pink shirt and verbally threatened her (saying he was going to kill her),” the release said.

The man then took the money and ran towards North 22nd Street.

Kinney told the bank teller and other witnesses at the branch about the incident. The suspect was seen running toward a waiting four-door silver Ford Taurus. He got into the back seat and the car took off south on North 22nd Street, the release said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between the age of 22 and 29. He is between 5 feet, 3 inches and 5 feet, 6inches in height and weighs about 175 pounds. He has short hair, some facial hair and was last seen wearing black clothes, black sunglasses and a silver chain.
