Search is on for Bank Robber

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the thief hit two banks in a 90-minute period.

Hillsborough County deputies are looking for a bank robber who they say made off with cash from Regions Bank, 11804 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., around 9:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

The man presented the teller a demand note, took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot from the scene, authorities said.

He is also believed to be responsible for a bank robbery at Bank of America on Hyde Park Avenue, which occurred at 10:41 Monday morning. According to the Tampa Police Department, the man gave the teller a note and was handed over money from the cash drawer.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early- to mid-30s with a thin build. He is 6 feet tall and between 170 and 180 pounds, clean-shaven and with very short hair. He was last seen wearing white capri pants with draw strings at the bottom, a light blue button down shirt, white tennis shoes and a white hat.
