Spring Training Tickets Becoming Available

Here are some players and games to keep an eye on in the Grapefruit League, and a guide to restaurants and hotels near the ballparks.

Spring training tickets are starting to go on sale for the Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees and other teams in Florida's Grapefruit League.

Single-game tickets are already on sale for the Yankees. The Rays haven't specified an on-sale date yet, but according to MLB.com, single-game tickets will go on sale in mid-January.

Spring training, which begins in March, will be the first chance for fans to see the Yankees' offseason acquisitions

The Rays' offseason acquisitions include:

  • P Fernando Rodney
  • P Josh Lueke

The Yankees' spring schedule and the Rays' spring schedule include two head-to-head matchups: on Wednesday, March 7 in Tampa, and on Wednesday, March 21 in Charlotte County.

The Yankees will also face American League rival the Boston Red Sox in a night game in Tampa on Tuesday, March 13, and they will host National League power the Philadelphia Phillies three times: Sunday, March 4; in a split squad game Sunday, March 11; and in a night game Friday, March 30.

On-sale dates for the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals, who both play in Jupiter, haven't been announced.

The Rays open the regular season against the Yankees on Friday, April 6 at  in St. Petersburg.
