TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Police Department is on the hunt for two men it says robbed the Baymont Inn at gunpoint early Monday morning.
According to the agency, two men walked into the 3001 University Center Drive hotel around 1:57 a.m. One of the men, who was wearing a mask, pointed a gun at the night clerk while the other jumped the counter and took money from the drawer, police wrote in an email to media. With cash in hand, the men took off out the front door.
The clerk did not hear a vehicle leave the parking lot, the police department’s email noted. Police patrol units, K9s and the air service unit responded within minutes, but were unable to catch up with the men.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
