Temple Terrace Area Homicide Under Investigation

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning in the Temple Terrace area.

According to an email from the agency, deputies received a call around 2:55 a.m. from a man who said he had been injured and required assistance.

Deputies went to 9802 U.S. 301 S. where they found the man behind the Winn-Dixie store. He was suffering from what deputies have characterized as “upper body trauma.”

The man has died from his injuries and now deputies are trying to determine what happened.

While authorities know the victim’s identity, they are not releasing his name until next of kin are located. The man is homeless, deputies say, and is believed to have lived behind the store, which is near Temple Terrace Pony Baseball fields.
