Temple Terrace Fire Rating Could Mean Savings for Property Owners
The city received an ISO Class I rating for its fire protection, which puts among the best of the best.

Temple Terrace home and business owners might see savings on their property insurance bills thanks to the men and women of the city’s fire department.
The city announced Wednesday that it has received a Class I Fire Suppression rating from ISO Community Hazard Mitigation. That organization collects data on fire-protection efforts in thousands of communities across the country, looking to evaluate municipal fire departments, water distribution, emergency communications and other factors. The classification ratings it gives out are often used by property insurance companies when they establish rates, a press release from Temple Terrace stated.
“This is big,” Michael C. Morash, manager of ISO’s Port St. Lucie office was quoted in the release as saying. “This puts you in the one-percentile of the entire country.”

“A Class 1 ISO rating is a huge accomplishment for our Fire Department, which our organization and community can be extremely proud of. Residents and businesses can be assured that we are providing the best possible fire service that we can,” Risk Reduction Division Chief Shane Samon of the Temple Terrace Fire Department was quoted as saying.
