Temple Terrace Man Found

Authorities have located Thomas A. Mann.

The Temple Terrace man who went missing at Wilderness Park has been found.

Deputies with the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office’s Special Incident Response Team located Thomas A. Mann, 54, just after 4 p.m.

Mann went missing yesterday, June 8. He had been to a local barber shop in the afternoon and was last seen in the park near Morris Bridge Road by park rangers, who spoke with him briefly. When he didn’t come home, his wife reported him missing. Temple Terrace Police found his car at the park at around 9:30 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mann parked his car in the parking area and walked south into the woods. A short time later, he became disoriented and wasn’t able to find his way back.

He continued to wander through the woods until after dark and eventually fell asleep, a sheriff’s office report said.

He began trying to find his way again when he awoke this morning until he became even more disoriented, dehydrated and unable to walk.

Searchers on ATVs found Mann several miles into the woods, the report states.

Mann has been brought out of the woods and is receiving medical attention for extreme exhaustion and dehydration, according the sheriff’s office. Once he is medically cleared, he will be reunited with his family.
