Longtime Temple Terrace resident passed away recently while on a trip to Cebu City, Philippines on November 2nd, 2013.
His name was Special Forces Sgt. Phil G. King, a Weapons Sergeant, Medic and an Engineer Sergeant in the United States Army. He was a Green Beret in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War completing three tours of duty in 1965, 1968 and 1971. He was a proud member of the 1st SF 3rd Special Forces Group Airborne Company A.
The second phase of his military experience began in 1994 when he joined the Special Forces Headquarters Association and was elected Secretary of the SFHA Command Chapter LX, Richard J. Meadows Memorial Chapter based out of McDill Air Force Base in Tampa. He was the Founder and Administrator of the Special Forces Headquarters Association search engine at www.sfahq.com .

He will be sadly missed by a host family, friends and admirers.
He will be buried with full military honors at Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Monday November 18th, 2013 near the place of his birth.

He was a great father, grandfather, soldier, friend and a successful real estate holder in Temple Terrace, North Tampa and in Tennessee. His Temple Terrace real estate holdings date back over thirty-five years.
He loved Temple Terrace and he loved to hear the academic success stories of all his grandchildren attending the city schools.His love for the Special Forces was unmatched and he continuously hosted Special Forces Chapter gathering at his home on Greenhill Place in Temple Terrace.
