Temple Terrace Police Attain 'Accredited Agency' Status
The department has reached a milestone, according to Public Information Officer Mike Dunn.

On June 30, directors of the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation approved Temple Terrace’s Accredited Agency status, according to a press release issued by Mike Dunn, the city’s public information officer.
Temple Terrace Police Chief Kenneth Albano said accreditation is an important achievement because it lets the community know that its police department is performing at a high level, the release states.

“It’s something you carry with you every day,” Albano is quoted as saying. “Accreditation has been called the gold seal of law-enforcement excellence. I agree with that.”
The City’s police department received high marks after a grueling assessment process, according to the release. Assessors spent three days conducting interviews, inspecting records, studying procedures, riding with police officers and reviewing crime-scene operations. In the end, Temple Terrace police met or exceeded each applicable standard for accreditation.

At a City Council meeting July 5, Albano said everyone involved in the process deserves credit for helping the department attain accreditation.
