Tropical Activity Shouldn’t Wreck the Weekend for Temple Terrace

Just because a conga line of storms is kicking around in the tropics doesn’t mean Temple Terrace’s weekend is a loss.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service’s Ruskin office say Tampa Bay area residents should plan for a hot, sunny weekend with only a slight chance of isolated-to-scattered thunderstorms. With highs expected to climb into the low to mid-90s, meteorologist Rodney Wynn says the weekend “should be pretty nice.”
He does, however, warn it could get kind of hot out there without a huge chance for rain to cool things down. The forecast calls for about a 20 percent chance of afternoon storms on Saturday, Sept. 14, and about a 30 percent chance on Sunday.

Meanwhile in the tropics, four systems, including Hurricane Humberto, are kicking around. None of these systems poses a threat for Tampa Bay at this time, Wynn said.
