USF Student Charged with Felony Firearm Possession

A 20-year-old student was arrested on campus today.

An anonymous tip about a student with a firearm stored in his dorm room has led to the arrest of a University of South Florida student.

According to the USF Police Department, officers received the call about a gun being stored in Kevin S. Caster’s room. When officers went to investigate the call around 2 p.m. today, Jan. 31, Caster surrendered the weapon, a media release said.

Caster was charged with felony possession of a firearm on school grounds and was being transported to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Central Booking facility this afternoon.
