Video Released of Shooting Suspect

The man is accused of trying to rob four people and shooting three.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for some help identifying a man it says shot three people during an attempted Tuesday morning robbery.

The crime took place around 5:51 a.m. outside the En Elquiler apartments, 11766 N. 15th St., as four men were waiting for a ride to work. A man approached the four, pointed a handgun and demanded money, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

At some point, the suspect fired several rounds, striking three of the four victims. Renan Diaz, 52, Genri Gonzalez-Cardona, 35, and Leonardo Garcia-Nandho, 28, were all struck. The fourth man, who has not been identified, was uninjured.

Deputies say the suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Diaz was struck in his left arm. Gonzalez-Cardona was hit in the left thigh and left foot. Garcia-Nandho was shot in the upper hip. All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
