Moore will step down from leading the School District of Indian River County after the 2026–27 school year. After nearly seven years, he points to major gains in district grades and school performance, and says his final-year goal is for every school to earn an A and the district to rank first statewide.

Suspect in fatal Vero Beach shooting arrested in West Virginia (wpbf.com) — Law enforcement has arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday on First Street in Vero Beach, and Indian River County deputies are working to bring him back to face charges. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Dawn Kriskewic, was found in the roadway and later died at a local hospital. Sheriff's officials plan to release more details at a Thursday afternoon news conference.
4. MLB Together teaches mental wellness at RBI World Series (mlb.com) — Vero Beach is hosting an MLB Together mental wellness program during the RBI World Series, where young players step away from the field to focus on mental health and community service. Activities include assembling donation bags for local Boys & Girls Clubs, interacting with a petting zoo tended by area residents, and learning practical self-care strategies from sports psychologists and MLB staff.
