The annual list recognizes the top working executives in the nation's nonprofit sector. Now in its 29th year, the Power & Influence Top 50 is chosen by the editors of The NonProfit Times, the leading business publication for nonprofit management, after a committee vote. Honorees are selected for their innovation, their influence on the broader nonprofit sector, and their success in building organizational models that others can replicate.

"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized among leaders I so deeply admire, people who spent this past year finding new ways to serve their communities when the work got harder," said Dr. Ganzert. "This recognition belongs to the entire American Humane Society family: our team, our partners, our donors, and our volunteers, including so many generous friends here in Palm Beach. Every day, they make it possible for us to protect animals and strengthen the bond we share with them."

Since her appointment in 2010, Dr. Ganzert has led unprecedented growth at the 149-year-old American Humane Society, which now reaches more animals around the world than any other humane organization. Under her leadership, American Humane Society has earned Charity Navigator's Four-Star rating for four consecutive years, the Seal of Excellence from Independent Charities of America, an "A" rating from Great Nonprofits, and full compliance with all 20 BBB Wise Giving Alliance standards. In Palm Beach, she serves on the board of the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation and is a member of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Trustee Program. She also serves on the board of the Loro Parque Foundation, which awarded her its Gorilla Prize for her conservation work.

The full 2026 Power & Influence Top 50 list appears in the July/August 2026 issue of The NonProfit Times and at thenonprofittimes.com.
