Childcare Scholarships Available For West Palm Beach Residents

Funds are available for kids whose parents work or attend school, are homeless or have an income at or below 200% of federal poverty level.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of West Palm Beach is committed to keeping residents informed of assistance available to them, in addition to City programs and services. The Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County (ELC), has notified the City about its โ€œSchool-Age Scholarship.โ€ Funded by Palm Beach Countyโ€™s Youth Services Department, the scholarships are available to families whose child(ren) are in grades K-5 and currently enrolled in Palm Beach County School Districtโ€™s distance learning program.

Scholarships are available to students whose parents work or attend school, are homeless or live with an income at or below 200% of federal poverty level. To qualify, applicants must submit documentation supporting the criteria, examples of which include:

  • Current paystub
  • Verification of employment statement
  • Written statement from employer
  • School enrollment
  • Class registration

Additionally, documents relating to residency, citizenship and childโ€™s age will be solicited. Applications must be submitted through the ELCโ€™s website: www.elcpalmbeach.org. To speak with an ELC customer resource specialist, call (561) 514-3300.
