Goodwill to open new attended donation center in Riviera Beach

Goodwill Industries of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast (GIPB) is continuing to secure new locations for attended donation centers (ADCs) on the east coast of Florida. These locations enable the nonprofit organization to support growth in the area, provide additional convenient options for residents to donate gently-used goods, and advance its mission of “Changing Lives Through the Power of Work.”

On April 18, GIPB opened a new attended donation center (ADC) in Riviera Beach. The Blue Heron ADC (1850 W. Blue Heron Blvd., Unit 2, Riviera Beach) will create three new jobs; hours will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

“Every donation dropped off at a Goodwill attended donation center fuels more than three hours of job training and opportunities, directly helping our team members to build job skills and achieve economic stability,” said Donn Githens, President and CEO of GIPB. “By donating, community members enable us to create job opportunities and help our neighbors build brighter futures.”

ADCs play a crucial role in supporting Goodwill’s mission-integrated donated goods operations. The sale of goods collected at ADCs powers thousands of hours of job training, employment programs, and career coaching through Goodwill’s award-winning GoodPartner Coach program.

Additionally, Goodwill's operations help to divert items from area landfills: in 2024, more than 48 million tons of donated goods were diverted from landfills in the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast region.

Items gratefully accepted at Goodwill ADCs include clothing and accessories, household goods, electronics, and other items such as art, books, musical instruments, sporting equipment, tools and housewares. Visit Goodwill’s website to learn more.

The next ADC opening for GIPB will be the Salerno ADC, located at 3320 SE Salerno Rd., Unit 3334, Stuart. This is scheduled to open to the public on May 2.
