Harry I Martin Jr Gives a hand for the women in the tech industry

Gone are the days when the tech world was dominated by men. What a man can do, a woman can do better. With this saying in mind, there are more women that have ventured in the tech industry. Recently Harry I Martin Jr was recognized as one successful man who has given more pore and support to women intending to venture into the tech industry.

In his recognition, Harry said that, if women are given time to succeed, they would do it very well if they receive the right support from their men counterparts.

Following this great recognition, there are a number of women in tech that was asked on why they think that the women in tech matter and how entrepreneurs like Harry I Martin Jr can support them.

In an interview with some top women in the tech industry, here are some of the responses that we got.

Claire Philips, a founder and CEO of a leading Engineering firm in California, noted that while the women represent about 50% of the world’s population, the tech jobs has just about 20% while the tech start-ups, the women only take about 17% of the industry and they get just 3% of funding for their start-ups.

Why does it matter to have women in tech?

According to findings, it is estimated that start-ups ran by women make approximately 150% of the revenue. Claire Philips was quick to note about a statement that was made by Kevin O’Leary from Shark Tank saying that he prefers to fund women founders because they generate more income.

In addition, women in Fintech are said to have a 60% say in the finances and contribute about 30% in the purchasing decision. Technology keeps on evolving and women can play a major role given that they can easily note problems and strive to find a solution for them.

Supporting the women in Tech

When asked about the kind of support they would like, Claire said that she would like women in the tech industry to be treated the same way as their teammates. By giving credit to their expertise, it would contribute greatly to maximizing their potential as they would feel motivated.

Winfred Williams, the President of one of the most successful tech e-commerce store went ahead to state that women are loyal problem solvers because once they develop an interest in something, they are passionate enough to pursue it. Winfred said that if there are both women and men in tech from different backgrounds, it will bring about so much innovation in the industry thus coming up with the best products that seek to solve the needs of the consumers.

Why do women in tech matter?

Winfred Williams borrowed a saying that when you educate and empower a woman, you educate a whole village/world. A woman has a lot of people depending on her than a man. Each generation is responsible for paving a way for future generation. Getting more women in the tech industry will create a great and conducive environment for the coming generation.

The need for support from men

Winfred said that there is a need to get more great men like Harry I Martin Jr to support them. Women need men who believe in the women empowerment without viewing a woman as inferior in this industry.

Support from men does not necessarily mean financial support. In a male-dominated industry, there are more male developers and tech entrepreneurs than women and one way they can support women are by mentoring them and guiding them in this industry.
