Local Entrepreneurs Add Flavor with The Spice & Tea Exchange

Jensen Beach, Fla. – The Spice & Tea Exchange®, a specialty retail store offering an extensive selection of exotic teas from around the world, hand-mixed spice blends and naturally flavored sugars and salts, recently opened in Jensen Beach at Treasure Coast Square.

To celebrate, store owners John and Esperanza Gekas are inviting the community to celebrate the grand opening of The Spice & Tea Exchange on Friday, November 9. The event will feature –

• Food and beverage samples
• Ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:00 p.m. with Larry McKay from 101.3 The Coast
• Giveaway prizes, including a $500 cruise getaway package and a gift basket from The Spice & Tea Exchange
• Le Macaron of Jensen Beach will serve macarons made fresh with flavored sugar from The Spice & Tea Exchange.
• 101.3 The Coast will broadcast on-site during the event.

Opening in the mall’s former Teavana location, The Spice & Tea Exchange of Jensen Beach offers a variety of loose-leaf teas and a culinary experience for all the senses. Upon arrival, guests are transported into a charming 18th century trading post atmosphere. Customers can explore the store, open apothecary-style jars to smell fragrant spices and teas, and receive helpful advice on cooking and flavors from an enthusiastic team of staff members. Employees also hand-mix custom spice blends and craft unique gifts right in front of guests.

Already familiar with The Spice & Tea Exchange brand, the Gekas’ opened The Spice & Tea Exchange of Palm Beach Gardens in 2015 after working at Publix for more than 30 years. The couple saw an overwhelmingly positive response from the community as well as a distinct need for an engaging, culinary shopping experience in the area. As a result, the Gekas’ decided to bring The Spice & Tea Exchange to Jensen Beach.

“The community in Palm Beach Gardens immediately fell in love with the interactive, sensory shopping experience at The Spice & Tea Exchange, and we can’t wait to bring this experience to Jensen Beach,” John Gekas said. “Tea service is brand-new in Jensen Beach and we want to share our expertise to help shoppers explore new flavors and recipes.”
