Mayor Advocates For City Of West Palm Beach In Washington

From the City of West Palm Beach: On June 11, 2019, West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James met with federal lawmakers and administrators in Washington, D.C. to advocate on behalf of the City of West Palm Beach. Mayor held meetings with:

• Senator Rick Scott, Florida;
• Representative Lois Frankel, District 21;
• Staff in the Office of Representative Alcee Hastings, District 20;
• William Crozer, Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the White House Office Intergovernmental Affairs;
• Morgan E. Bedan, Associate Director, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, The White House;
• John E. Augustine, Director of the Office of Infrastructure, Finance and Innovation, U.S. Department of Transportation.

At these meetings, they discussed:

• Water quality and the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM);
• Transportation and the City’s BUILD grant application for federal funding for N. Broadway;
• And grant opportunities.

Making the trip with Mayor on behalf of the City of West Palm Beach were Assistant City Administrator Scott D. Kelly and City Attorney Kimberly Rothenburg. Mayor’s advocacy on behalf of the City is in line with his focus on creating a community of opportunity for all and a vision for West Palm Beach that is resident-driven. Mayor is committed to creating a customer friendly culture that focuses on neighborhood initiatives, regional collaboration and community partnerships.
