WM Unveils New $24 Million Construction & Demolition Recycling Facility in Central Florida

WM announced that it has opened a new, $24 million recycling facility in Orlando. The 53,800‑square‑foot facility is capable of processing up to 72,000 tons of construction and demolition material annually. Its advanced processing line separates materials of value with available end markets, supporting material recovery and reuse. Acceptable materials include scrap metal, concrete, aggregate, wood, and cardboard.

“WM continues its investment in recycling infrastructure with the opening of our new WM Orlando Recycling facility to process construction and demolition materials, while conserving valuable landfill space,” said WM Florida Area Vice President David Myhan.“We look forward to collaborating with Orange County, surrounding cities and counties, and our construction customers to advance local recycling efforts.”

This facility is part of WM’s enterprise-wide plans to invest more than $1.4 billion in 39 new and upgraded recycling facilities across North America from 2022 to 2026, which is expected to add approximately 2.8 million tons of incremental annual processing capacity by the end of 2026. These planned investments seek to enable WM to increase its ability to manage more recycled materials and potentially enhance access to recycling for its customers.
