World Pickleball Open is Grand Slam at PGA Village Verano

It was an action-packed weekend on the Treasure Coast for the inaugural World Pickleball Open. Nearly 300 amateur and professional players from four countries and 20 states travelled to compete at PGA Village Verano’s brand-new pickleball facility, making it the largest pickleball event in Treasure Coast history. Players ranging in age from 15 to 79 competed for their piece of $15,000 in prize money, and an estimated $300,000 in economic activity to the area. Several were named Champions of this inaugural tournament, with Frank Anthony Davis, ranked #3 nationwide, taking home the gold in Professional Men's Singles division and local Parkland resident, Taylor Niss, helping her and partner Julie Manuel of Dayton, Ohio take home gold in the Professional Women's Doubles division.
