WPB Residents Should Expect To Hear Train Horns Along Brightline Railway During Signal Testing
The rail crossing at 36th Street will be closed during the testing period, which will last from Jan. 25-Feb. 5.

City of West Palm Beach residents should expect to hear train horns along the Brightline railway during signal testing scheduled from 7:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2021, through 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2021. Brightline is upgrading signal installations between Miami and West Palm Beach.

The Brightline rail crossing at 36th St. will be closed during the testing period. During the testing period, motorists at 36th St. should use the following detours:
- Eastbound 36th St. traffic will be directed to travel south on Greenwood Ave. to 30th St., east on 30th St. to Pinewood Ave. and north on Pinewood Ave. to access 36th St.
- Westbound 36th St. traffic will be directed to travel south on Pinewood Ave. to 30th St., west on 30th St. to Greenwood Ave., and north on Greenwood Ave. to access 36th St.
Even though a โquiet zoneโ was established along the Brightline/FEC rail corridor in West Palm Beach in May 2018, the federal train horn rule allows locomotive engineers to sound their horn in the event of an emergency or when construction or work is taking place on the railway tracks.
