Alonso Baseball Player Goes Pro
Jose Fernandez was selected in the draft by the Florida Marlins Major League Baseball team.
Alonso Senior Jose Fernandez was recently drafted by the Florida Marlins in the first round, as reported by the Tampa Tribune earlier this week.
"We are very excited for him," said Orlando Faedo, the school's head baseball coach. "It's well deserved."
Fernandez was the team's 14th pick. The Alonso pitcher led the team in its second state title in three years.
