The summer days are quickly approaching and I have been starting to think about what my family will do this summer. One of the best things about summertime is that its vacation time! In the past, when I would pack for traveling I would bring too much, so I devised a quick and no fuss plan for packing that now leaves me with more time and less stress. Here are my choices for a few key items to bring the next time you travel.
- Dark Denim-
This style must have is so versatile, can be worn with casual or dressy combinations. One of the best qualities about
denim is that it packs very well! No wrinkling or creasing as long as it’s folded and put at the bottom of the suitcase, however delicates items are packed last to keep crisp and ready to
White Tank Top- A classic wardrobe staple: the white tank can be worn under a blazer with jeans for a chic pulled together look, or joined with shorts or a skirt with colorful accessories like a lightweight scarf or a bold necklace for a fun and laid back ensemble. Maxi Dress or Skirt- This long flowy summer trend is easy and comfortable and looks great while shopping or just hanging out with friends and family. Whether you are at a beach resort, or the country in New England, keep the accessories simple for daytime with a few bangles or a colorful ring. Dress it up for night with wedged shoes and bold jewelry: Turquoise is very beautiful for any skin tone. Wedge Platforms, Embellished Flip Flops, and Black Heels-I always have these in my suitcase and I am never sorry that I brought them. These items just pump up any outfit and take to the next level. Any color or style will do but keep in mind where you will be vacationing and what activities you will be doing. These are for when you will not be trekking on the beach or canoeing on the lake. Wearing wedges while hiking is not recommended ladies! Light Weight Cardigan or Blazer-I like to throw one of these on if the air is chilly and when you are on vacation you never know when you will need it! Its best to buy these essential pieces in neutral colors: navy, black, gray, or white to have a more options when pairing them with different outfits. A Basic Dress- This dress is just in case you decide to go to an establishment where the attire is called to be more proper or polished. This item can be in a bold color to be on trend, or for a more classic approach try a neutral and pair with bold accessories. All of these items can be mixed and matched together, which saves time and stress when deciding what to pack and wear when you arrive to your destination. If you want more ideas: I am loving what J. Crew has on their website this season. Their site offers great tutorials on differents combinations and styles, which always gives me style inspiration.
