Corey Knows Best: Pining for Pinterest?

Pinterest.  Have you heard of it?  Tried it?  Let me tell you.  If you are in search of a phenomenal time waster full of inspiration, recipes, laughs, read on. 

Pinterest is a vision board that connects you, social media style, to your friends and strangers.  You create boards.  For food, decor, phrases, whatever you fancy.  Pinterest connects you with your friends and others who have 'pinned' some of the coolest stuff from the internet, right there for you to peruse.  And you can pin stuff from the internet too.  Or from your personal website or from wherever. 

The cool part is that it's never ending.  New stuff shows up all the time.  New recipes, new phrases, new things catered just for you. 

So, here's a quick tutorial.

First, go to Pinterest and request an invite.  Usually it takes a few days to get your account. 

Once you have your account, you can link up with Facebook or Twitter if you want or just use your email address and miraculously Pinterest finds your friends for you to follow (I know it's not actually miraculous). 

You can 'like' things, you can 'repin' things to your boards, or you can pin stuff yourself by installing the 'pin it' button.  You can check out friends boards.  Type in words or phrases for what you are looking for.  It's all there.  According to Pinterest, millions of pins are added every week. 

If you find something you like, click on the picture.  Then click on it again and it takes you to the actual website the image came from so you can make a recipe, get a DIY tutorial, or just get more information.
