Congratulations to Our Patch Athlete of the Week
Amber Henson is a senior captain of the Sickles Girls Basketball team. She has led her team to back-to-back regional finals and has been chosen for this week's Athlete of the Week.
Amber is not hard to miss, in school, in public, and especially on the basketball court. At six-feet-four, she towers over everyone else on the floor but her imposing stature is complemented by her gentle disposition.
She is one of the most highly-recruited girls basketball players in the state and has already committed to Duke University to continue her basketball career. Amber is also a McDonalds All American and has some eye-popping statistics on the year.
Her 6.7 blocks per game ranks second in the state. Her 13.3 rebounds per game are good enough for 13th in the state and she averages over 21 points per game. In addition, she is the team’s vocal leader.
