Congratulations to Patch Athlete of the Week: Crum Gets it Done for Sickles

Junior point guard Bre Crum is pushing her team toward the Class 5A state basketball tournament.

Sickles girls basketball coach Mark Key calls junior Bre Crum the "conscience of the team."

As the team captain, Crum is leading by example and will continue as the Gryphons prepare for a Class 5A regional final at Clearwater High School tonight (Saturday, Feb. 19) at 7pm. A victory would advance Sickles to its second consecutive state tournmanet appearance.

Crum leads the Gryphons in points per game with 21.7, and averages nearly five assists and four steals. Those gaudy numbers helped Crum earn the Westchase Patch Player of the Week award.
