Crash Closes Northbound Veterans Expressway Lanes

TAMPA, FL — Motorists who want to use the Veterans Expressway to head north may want to choose a different route.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday afternoon that a crash involving a semi-truck that hit a guardrail and overturned has closed northbound lanes. The wreck reportedly happened just south of West Waters Avenue.

“All northbound traffic is being diverted off the Veterans at Hillsborough Avenue,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the crash investigation. No further information is available at this time.
