How Will You Stay Connected During Hurricane Season?

Preparation is the name of the game this week. May 25-31st is National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and it’s most important that we are all ready for anything Mother Nature throws our way.

With the start of Hurricane Season being less than a week away, AT&T has some reminders for safety during severe weather.

Here’s what you should remember, whether you need to evacuate or shelter in place.

For Your Home:

o   Keep your wireless phone batteries charged at all times, and keep your phones dry.

o   Have a family communication plan in place in case you are separated when the storm hits.

o   Program emergency contact info into your mobile device.

o   Forward your home number to your wireless number in case you have to evacuate.

o   Track the storm and access weather information on your wireless device through apps, such as The Weather Channel.

 For Your Small Business:

o   Set up a call-forwarding service to a predetermined backup location, as well as backing up data to the Cloud.

o   Give employees detailed plans in case they need to evacuate or shelter in place.

o   Assemble a crisis-management team.
