Man Serious After Losing Control Of SUV On Veterans Expressway

WESTCHASE, FL — A Tampa man is in serious condition at St. Joseph's Hospital following a single-vehicle accident on the Veterans Expressway south of Barry Road Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:49 a.m., John Edward Webb II, 19, was driving a Toyota Sequoia north on the expressway when he lost control, collided with a concrete barrier wall, then rotated and overturned before hitting a guardrail.

The Toyota continued over the side of the guardrail and rolled down an embankment where it hit a chain-link fence.
