Man Shot, Killed In Possible Robbery

A person inside the home fired the shot during a Friday night scuffle, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night in Town ‘N Country.

According to the agency, deputies were called to 5713 Diordora Way around 8:45 p.m. When they arrived, they found Terrance Roach, 27, dead inside the home.

Deputies say a woman who lives at the apartment was outside when Roach is accused of approaching her with a firearm. “Roach forced the female back into to the apartment with the purpose of what is believed to be a robbery,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

Once inside the apartment, deputies say an adult male in the home confronted Roach and a struggle broke out. Roach was shot at least once in the upper body during that struggle and died at the scene.

Detectives believe the act was not random and have identified a possible motive. Information, however, is not being released at this time about the motive.
