Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Race Track Road

WESTCHASE, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash at the intersection of Race Track Road and Countryway Boulevard in Westchase.

On Sunday, Feb. 10 at 9:10 a.m., the driver of a Nissan Rogue was stopped on Race Track Road at the intersection of Countryway. A motorcyclist was stopped directly behind the Rogue when the driver of a Chrysler Town and Country van came up from behind and failed to notice the traffic stopped in front.

The van struck both the Rogue and the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 66-year-old man, was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the middle of the intersection. He was airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
