Odessa Woman Killed in Single-Car Crash

A 37-year-old Odessa woman is dead following a single-car crash on Race Track Road.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Yolanda Mendoza was heading north on Race Track Road around 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Deputies say Mendoza was traveling about 55 mph when her 2007 Saturn Sky left the road, hit several trees and then struck a concrete wall near Fountainhead Drive.

“Patrol units had just received a reckless driving alert just prior to the crash,” an email from the sheriff’s office stated.

Mendoza was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, the email said. She died as a result of her injuries, deputies say.
