That was the decision made by the Westchase Community Development District supervisors earlier this week. The board took a 4-1 vote in favor of charging non-Westchase residents $50 to rent pavilions in the parks. Westchase residents will continue to be charged $25.
Supervisor Greg Chesney voted against the increase.

"Any fee differential for a Hillsborough resident is going to violate our agreement," said Chesney, referring to interlocal agreement Westchase has with Hillsborough County which stipulates that all Hillsborough residents must be given access to the parks within the community. "It seems silly to go ahead and pursue this."
However CDD officials say charging non-residents more does not violate the agreement because non-Westchase residents are still free to use the parks. Adding that a portion of Westchase residents' assessment fees already go toward maintaining the parks and other community areas in the neighborhoods.
Baybridge Park is located at 10017 Bridgeton Drive and Glencliff is at 12220 Glencliff Circle in Tampa.
