Sandbag Materials Available in Hillsborough

County residents can pick up what they need to safeguard their properties.

As heavy rains continue to pummel the Tampa Bay area, Hillsborough County has announced it is making sandbag materials available to the public.

Residents can pick up materials from noon until 4 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, weather permitting, at three locations in the county:

  • West Service Unit at 9805 Sheldon Road
  • South Service Unit at 8718 Old Big Bend Road
  • East Service Unit at 4702 Sydney Road

The materials are provided free of charge, but residents need to assemble their own sandbags. Each resident must sign their name and provide their home address to receive materials for up to 25 bags, the county stated in an email to media.
