Silver Alert Issued for Tampa Man

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for an 83-year-old man from the Westchase area.

Deputies say Candelario Mendoza of Bayou Drive suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. On Thursday around 4 p.m., he and his wife were getting ready to go out, but Mendoza drove off in the couple’s 2014 Nissan Versa while his wife was still getting ready.

Mendoza hasn’t been seen since.

Deputies say Mendoza stands about 5 feet, 9 inches in height and weighs an estimated 150 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving that silver, four-door Versa. The car’s Florida license plate number is E 8 4 4 T H.
