Westchase Patch Athlete of the Week

Every week we take a look at one of the area's exceptional student-athletes. This week we take a look at Alonso's Juan Bracamonte

Junior Juan Bracamonte is The Alonso Ravens’ third baseman on a very good team. It is his second year on the team and he is already emerging as a team leader. In Alonso’s last game against Sickles, Juan tore up The Gryphons going three-for-three with a walk, a double and three RBIs on his way to an eventual 15-2 thrashing of Sickles.

Patch: How did you get started in baseball?

When I was three years old I started in tee ball in Miami. My dad always coached my little league teams. I moved to Tampa when I was eleven and played travel ball with AAU. I got to Alonso my sophomore year and made the team.

No one thing in particular. I just love the game, standing at the plate, hitting the ball.
