Man Dies In Crash On Hillsborough Avenue

TAMPA, FL -- A 41-year-old Tampa man is dead following a fatal car crash Wednesday, Nov. 27 on Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2017 Nissan Maxima east on the inside lane of Hillsborough Avenue west of Montague Street around 11:30 p.m. when he rear-ended a 2017 Toyota Camry headed in the same direction. That car was driven by Tien Tram, 26, of Clearwater.

The collision forced the Nissan off the road and into a lake. The driver died at the scene. Jeannie Kay Miller, 25, of Palm Harbor was a passenger in the Nissan and received minor injuries. Tram and his passenger, Quynh Tran, 22, of Oldsmar, were uninjured.

The name of the man who died is being withheld pending notification of her family.
