• Haines City Man Struck And Killed By Winter Haven Dump Truck Driver In Crosswalk Crash (tampafp.com) — A Haines City pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning when a dump truck driven by a Winter Haven man struck him as he crossed in a marked crosswalk at South 30th Street and Robinson Drive in Polk County. State troopers say the 36-year-old driver was turning right when the collision happened, and the victim died at the scene while the investigation continues.
• Winter Haven Man Arrested For DUI While Driving Golf Cart Without Lights (tampafp.com) — A 48-year-old Winter Haven man was arrested Tuesday night after deputies say he drove an unlit golf cart on a Wahneta roadway while heavily intoxicated. According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, he allegedly gave a false name, showed signs of impairment, had an open beer, and later blew about three times Florida's legal alcohol limit.
