VALDOSTA, GA — Authorities say they are investigating the death of an alligator found hanging from a tree limb in a south Georgia park this week.
The alligator was found suspended from the tree Wednesday near a river in Langdale Park, located at Hyta Mederer Drive in Lowndes County, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources told Patch.
Game wardens responded to the park after receiving a report of the "illegal killing of an alligator," authorities said.
A cause of death was not revealed, and it is unknown if there are any suspects in custody.
The DNR is investigating the case.
