• Cobb County commissioners set to vote on microtransit expansion (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Acworth residents could soon gain access to low-cost microtransit if Cobb County commissioners approve expanding the Cobb Linc Go pilot to Acworth and Kennesaw. The board is expected to vote Tuesday night, with most funding coming from grants and a trust, while supporters and opponents debate costs and voter intent.
   

• Alan Baxter (polktoday.com) — Family and friends in Acworth and Cobb County are mourning the passing of 64-year-old Alan David Baxter of Acworth, a retired postal worker and avid memorabilia collector. Funeral services are set for Sunday, August 30, at Rockmart Second Baptist Church, with additional visitation in Marietta and suggested memorial donations to lupus and pancreatic cancer charities.
