ACWORTH, GA — Authorities on Friday say a Cartersville man is facing aggravated assault charges after being accused of shooting at an Acworth house where there were children inside.
Deputies from Cherokee and Bartow counties on Thursday arrested Taconda Lashad Bush, 50, in connection with the drive-by shooting, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened Tuesday at a McCollum Way home in unincorporated Cherokee. Deputies responded to a damage-to-property call at the house after the homeowners reported hearing multiple gunshots, authorities said.
Deputies found damage to the house, authorities said, adding children were home at the time of the shooting. No one was injured, authorities said.
Investigators were able to identify Bush as a suspect and obtain a warrant to arrest him, authorities said.
He was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated stalking, authorities said.
Tuesday was not the first time a drive-by shooting has occurred at the home.
Authorities said they are working to determine if Bush is connected to a similar incident that took place on Sept. 27 at the house.
A motive is under investigation, but authorities said they believe the shooting may possibly be related to a workplace incident that led to a permanent protective order issued last year.
Bush is being held at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center without bond, authorities said.
