The cameras, installed at school entrances after Fulton County's 2022 approval, are defended by the district's police chief as vital for safety and investigations, setting up a local debate over surveillance in Alpharetta schools.
2. Alpharetta police make arrest in 2024 salon break-in (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta residents may be interested that police have arrested a 22-year-old Decatur man in connection with a 2024 burglary at a North Main Street nail salon. Investigators say cash and liquor were stolen from the salon and a neighboring restaurant, and another suspect from Lithonia was previously charged after officers reviewed security footage.

Site work to begin on entertainment hub, arena in Forsyth County, developer says (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Work starts next week on The Gathering at South Forsyth, a $3 billion entertainment district and proposed NHL arena just north of Alpharetta, while a separate effort continues to land a team directly in Alpharetta. Local leaders are pitching both Forsyth and North Point Mall–linked projects as ways to bring professional hockey back to metro Atlanta, which could reshape entertainment options and traffic patterns for Alpharetta residents.
