Road Closures Planned Ahead Of Alpharetta Festival

Multiple roads in Alpharetta will temporarily close due to the Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Temporary road closures are planned for later this week as Alpharetta prepares to host the Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival.

The festival will run Friday and Saturday in downtown Alpharetta, but road closures will begin Thursday, according to city officials.

Performers will bring indie rock, soul, folk and bluegrass to the event, which will include at least 40 artists on six outdoor stages, city officials said.

The City of Alpharetta and the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau are hosting the event.

In preparation, North Broad Street will close from 9 a.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Sunday.

The following roads will close from 6 a.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Sunday:

Highway 9 from Milton Avenue to Old Milton Parkway will shut down from 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Event parking will take place at the following locations:

Any vehicles parked in restricted areas will be ticketed or towed, city officials said.

While admission into the festival is free, tickets cost $30 for the event's Listening Room. They are currently on sale, and organizers said proceeds will benefit the city's Music Match program.
