ALPHARETTA, GA — City officials will hold the Annual Rivers Alive Volunteer Watershed Cleanup this weekend in Alpharetta, they announced Friday.
The cleanup will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rock Mill Park, 3100 Kimball Bridge Road.
Officials say volunteers can spend the morning helping with cleanup work tied to the city's natural areas. Volunteers will take part in projects focused on protecting greenways, streams and storm drains, organizers said.
Gathered litter and debris will be weighed, tallied and photographed, organizers said.
"The mission of Rivers Alive is to create awareness of and involvement in the preservation of Georgia's water resources," organizers said.
People can pre-register by emailing tporter@alpharetta.ga.us or by calling (678) 297-6213.
