• NPS Awards $10 million in History of Equal Rights Grants (nps.gov) — Americus is receiving two major federal preservation grants, including funding to rehabilitate the historic Americus Colored Hospital and a separate award for the Bakery Building at Koinonia Farm. Part of a $10 million national package, these History of Equal Rights grants will help protect key local civil rights and heritage sites while boosting cultural tourism and community pride.
   

• Friday Night Rewind (albanyherald.com) — Monroe High's Golden Tornadoes are headed to Americus this Friday night to take on Sumter County in a non-region football matchup, bringing another big game to the local stadium. The roundup also recaps several other Southwest Georgia high school games, highlighting standout performances and shifting region momentum across the area.
