UGA Student Falls 8 Floors From Apartment Window

ATHENS, GA — Police say a University of Georgia student was seriously injured after falling from an eighth-floor window Saturday in Athens.

The accident happened in a West Broad Street apartment, Athens-Clarke County Police said Monday.

The student was dancing on a couch near an open window when she fell out of the window and down eight floors, landing on the pool deck, police said.

She was alert and conscious but was seriously injured, police said. Her status was not immediately known Monday.
