Athens Jewish Film Festival Begins with a Gala Saturday Evening

There are films and food from Saturday through Wednesday.

From the opening gala at the Georgia Music of Art, to the awards festival on Wednesday night, the Athens Jewish Film Festival celebrates and explores the theme "Jewish Film, Universal Themes." The 11 movies--documentaries, animated films, comedies and drams--from different counties entertain and inform.

The opening gala--which features a catered dinner, cocktails and the movie "Hava Nagila." The cost is $60. The dinner begins at 7pm and the movie starts at 8:45pm. Tickets to the rest of the shows are $7.

There's priority seating first for GALA attendees, second for Festival Pass holders and third for individual ticket holders. Please check-in at the registration table. If you are coming only for the movie, please arrive by 8:15 p.m.

The rest of the festival is at Cine in downtown Athens. A festival pass is $35. That will get you into 10 outstanding movies and let you nosh a little between shows. There's something for everyone--plan to bring your kids to the 12:30pm showing of "Circus Kids," which looks just amazing.

For all films at CinΓ©, please arrive for seating at least 30 minutes before the movie starts. If films are not sold out (to pass holders), individual seats will be made available for purchase for $7 each at the CinΓ© box office, starting approximately 10-15 minutes before each showing.
